Elecnor Deimos, through its Portuguese subsidiary Deimos Engenharia, and Accurision sign a technology licensing agreement and successfully start collaboration for developing ultra-precise navigation devices based on Galileo, Europe’s own satellite navigation system.
Elecnor Deimos has successfully spun-out its GNSS receiver technology to Accurision. Additionally, both companies have reached a deal to jointly develop enabling technology for autonomous navigation systems. Such technology targets cars and other vehicles that will play a significant increasing and important in role in today’s economy and society. Deimos is a leading actor in the development of Galileo, Europe’s satellite navigation system. Pedro Freire da Silva, head of GNSS Receiver and Applications department, explains that “Galileo unique signals characteristics including E5 AltBOC modulation have become key enablers of highly accurate and robust navigation and will set the standards for the future navigation systems”. Accurision shall launch its first product into the market in 2020 with test trails expected in 2019.
The mission of Elecnor Deimos is to provide high-technology engineering solutions, as well as information systems, products and services of maximum quality, innovation and added-value to its customers.
The company was founded in 2001 aiming to develop and provide high-tech systems and engineering solutions. Deimos is the technology branch of Elecnor, one of the Spanish leading companies in engineering, infrastructure development and construction projects and a prominent investor in renewable energy, environmental infrastructure, and space.
All this provides Elecnor Deimos with the capacity for continued growth as well as a solid financial foundation. The knowledge and experience accumulated throughout the years allows the current aerospace market needs to be tackled with the company’s new business approach.
